About This Spot

Stepping into Taco House on San Pedro Avenue feels like entering a familiar neighborhood spot where the day slows down just enough to savor simple, genuine flavors. The air carries a welcoming warmth, mingled with the inviting aroma of fresh tortillas and sizzling chorizo that hints at the kitchen’s quiet dedication to tradition. It’s the kind of place where time seems measured by the comfort of good food and friendly smiles rather than the rush of the outside world.

The atmosphere hums quietly with a steady, easy pace—busy yet unhurried, like a well-loved local kitchen where regulars and newcomers find a little corner of calm to enjoy. Behind the counter, the staff’s cheerful, approachable spirit sets a tone that feels both personal and authentic, turning each visit into more than just a meal. This is the kind of spot where orders are made with care and served promptly, where a morning rush can still feel like a shared community ritual.

Food here is never just about sustenance; it’s about moments layered in warmth and familiarity. The flour and corn tortillas—soft, fresh, and gently pillowy—are little hand-crafted invitations that carry fillings rich with comfort: from velvety beans and melting cheese to the savory kick of house-made chorizo and the satisfying crunch of the famously crispy enchiladas. Each bite echoes a deep respect for the recipes that anchor this place, blending tradition with everyday enjoyment.

Whether settling in for a quick breakfast or lingering over a mid-day plate, Taco House offers a steady rhythm of flavors that feel honest and full-bodied without overwhelming. The green salsa brings a bright, fresh note that complements rather than competes, while the atmosphere invites you to linger a little longer and soak it all in. It’s a space where the food feels like a quiet conversation between old recipes and new moments—comforting, real, and perfectly at home in San Antonio’s vibrant tapestry.

Not my magic tortilla. But still good. For them the magic might be the chorizo and egg. Now of course it had grease, it's chorizo after all, but I've got to tell you there was hardly any and it definitely didn't run down my arm... this is number one for me. Now the tacos don't look cheap on the menu, but trust me you will get your money's worth in the filling. My friend got a corn tortilla and said they loved it.

We went here after doing a search for a Taco House near me while running an errand. It was a great suggestion. Restaurant is very clean, was busy but had enough tables with no waiting. Service was fast, and the food was delicious. Tacos were packed, and it was all great tasting. Tortillas were fluffy and delicious. Tea and coffee were fresh. We will be making the trip to this Taco House from here on out.

The first thing I noticed was the delicious scent of fresh food as I walked through the door. The ladies behind the counter are so friendly and smiling. I ordered my usual for breakfast. Egg/bean/cheese as well as a ham/egg. The next thing I noticed is how heavy my bag was. These tacos are fully loaded. The green salsa is excellent as well. Great place!

Flavor: A- Service: B Tea: B Solo dining: A What a great little Mexican food spot. I got the Mexican plate (even though it wasn’t Friday so I paid full price) and I was not disappointed. The cheese enchiladas were just like I like them with the perfect gravy. The taco, beans, rice, and tortillas were all great. And it’s a great value considering how much food you get. They took away the tea before closing time which I absolutely cannot stand so I can’t consider their tea or service A-level but all else left me eager to return.

My boyfriend and I come here all the time to get tacos when we’re getting ready in a hurry for work or to enjoy them for a delicious breakfast as well. Remarkably this restaurant will get you your food the way you want it no questions asked with great customer service no argument guaranteed. 100/10 !!! Soft tortilla + flavor
